Why Flavored Coffee Is Worth Brewing Right
Flavored coffees are more than just a fun twist on your morning routine — they're an experience. At KoolBeanz Coffee, we craft each flavor to complement the natural richness of quality coffee beans. But even the best flavored coffee can fall flat if it's not brewed properly. Here's how to get the most out of every cup.
1. Start with Fresh, Cold Water
Water quality matters more than you might think. Use filtered or cold tap water — avoid distilled water, which can make your brew taste flat. The ideal brewing temperature is between 195–205°F (just off a boil).
2. Use the Right Coffee-to-Water Ratio
A good rule of thumb is 1–2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 oz of water. For bold flavored coffees like our Dubai Chocolate or Hazelnut, you may want to stay closer to 2 tablespoons to let those flavors really shine through.
3. Choose Your Brew Method
Different brew methods bring out different flavor notes:
- Drip Coffee Maker – Great for everyday brewing; consistent and easy.
- French Press – Brings out a fuller, richer body — perfect for our Pecan Pie or Cinnabun blends.
- Pour Over – Highlights subtle flavor nuances with a clean, bright finish.
4. Avoid Over-Brewing
Leaving coffee on a hot plate for too long can burn it and dull the flavors. Brew fresh and enjoy within 30 minutes for the best taste.
5. Store Your Coffee Properly
Keep your KoolBeanz coffee in an airtight container away from light, heat, and moisture. Avoid the fridge or freezer — coffee absorbs odors easily and can lose its flavor profile.
